Nate & Melisa's 10 Year Vow Renewal

I met Melisa at the gym through a mutual friend a few years ago. We used to frequent a lot of the same group exercise classes, always saying a friendly hello when we'd pass each other. During the start of the pandemic, and with our number one source of sanity (the gym!) being shut down, we joined a small group of girls who kept the personal training classes going in each other's backyards. Our friendship blossomed, and when she mentioned to the group one day that her and her husband didn't have any wedding pictures we vowed to remedy that. With her and her husband's ten year anniversary quickly approaching, we set out to help her plan all the details for an intimate vow renewal.

With the most amazing team of vendors, their special day was able to come together in a matter of weeks. Every single detail that went into this day- from the wood engraved vows, to the carefully curated tablescape and florals, and that amazing spread (my mouth waters just looking back at the pictures) truly made the day magical! With their two beautiful girls as witnesses, Melisa and her husband Nate were able to recite their vows to each other in an intimate setting nestled into the hills of East San Diego. As they reaffirmed their love for each other, it was easy to see that these two are truly soulmates and best friends. It was in the way they looked at each other- lost in each other's eyes, the way they smiled at each other- their faces radiating joy, and the way they embraced their two daughters who you could tell were their everything.

After the ceremony, we snuck away for some sunset portraits in the hilltops nearby. There was something incredible about watching the skies part and the most amazing colours bring the skies to life as Nate and Melisa relished in their loved like newlyweds. It was such an honor to be the one to capture this special day for them and document their love! Enjoy some of my favorite images from the day.
